Disney has a lot riding on the new themed lands they plan to open this year (Pandora: The World of Avatar) and 2019 (Star Wars Land). Disney has no doubt been feeling some pressure as their chief rival, Universal, continues to ride the high that started all the way back in 2010 with the opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Islands of Adventure in Orlando. That could soon change.

Earlier this week, Bloomberg Businessweek posted a great article online that goes in-depth on Disney’s plans to once again regain the theme park crown. The article – a long read, but absolutely worth every second for theme park junkies – splits time between famed Imagineer Joe Rohde giving an all-access tour of Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Scott Trowbridge, Disney’s exec in charge of the duel Star Wars Lands in Disneyland (California) and Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Orlando) who shares some GREAT behind-the-scenes intel. We know that Disney is already starting to ramp up transportation, resort and, maybe even a themed Star Wars-inspired hotel experience in conjunction with the opening of what will possibly be the biggest single theme park expansion in history, but the article shared a lot of new and exciting information about both new ventures.

Be sure to check out the article linked above and the two videos below. Anyone else excited to head to the world of Pandora and Star Wars?
