Hey friends! We’re trying to keep our updates coming on a more regular basis, so we’re back with a real quick Monday post! Let’s get right to it, shall we?
Ratatouille coming to Epcot?
For those who’ve been bellyaching about the addition of Frozen in the World Showcase with last year’s Frozen After Ever attraction replacing Maelstrom at the Norway pavilion, you might want to look away. Our friends over at WDW News Today are reporting that Disney has filed permits for extensive work behind the France Pavilion in the World Showcase and that this work could signal the arrival of everyone’s favorite cooking rat, Ratatouille, for a new dark ride at Epcot! While Ratatouille has been relatively non-existent at Walt Disney World other than some merchandise in the gift shop of the France Pavilion, the loveable rodent is the star of a world-class attraction, Ratatouille: The Adventure at Disneyland Paris. The ride is a 3D-dark ride that utilizes trackless vehicles that carry guests through Ratatouille’s kitchen and restaurant. We were able to ride this in Paris a few years ago and it was a treat! While we have no further indications from Disney that Ratatouille is on his way to Epcot, let’s keep our fingers crossed!
Star Wars Land updates
If you’re a fan of our site then you know we’re all-in on the new Star Wars lands opening in 2019 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida and Disneyland on the west coast! Construction on both projects is in full swing and as of now, the construction at Disneyland appears to be a few months ahead of the work in Florida. We hope to start looking at the construction progress in more depth in future posts, but if you want to catch up with where things are, we’ve got a perfect starter course for you!
For updates as the Disneyland Star Wars Land, we love following Fresh Baked on YouTube. While aerial photography is off limits at Disneyland, the Disney parking garage adjacent to the back of Star Wars Land is currently providing a fantastic vantage point for construction updates! The Fresh Baked gang is there several times a week to shoot footage and give us an idea of what is going on. Here’s their latest construction video (note: unlike most of the Fresh Baked videos, this one does not have narration):
For updates at Star Wars Land in Hollywood Studios, we are HOOKED on two different sources at the moment: @bioreconstruct on Twitter and our friends over at BlogMickey.com! BM just did a great post of aerial photos (hooray for the lax airspace over Hollywood Studios!) of Star Wars Land this weekend and you should definitely check it out.
